Cash-on-cash

Simplified method to determine an investor's return by dividing the consideration received back from the conclusion of an investment by the amount initially committed.

Comments
For example, if an investor commits $1 million of equity capital in a buyout transaction and several years later, upon exit, the investor is returned $3 million, the investor's cash-on-cash return is 3x.
