The history of the Aeroflot company begins in 1923, when the resolution of the Council of Labor and Defense "On the assignment of technical supervision of air lines to the General Directorate of the Air Fleet and on the organization of the Council for Civil Aviation" was adopted. On March 17, 1923, a subscription to shares of the Russian Society of the Voluntary Air Fleet, Dobrolet, which became the founder of Aeroflot, was opened.
Aeroflot became a joint-stock company in Moscow in 1994. At the moment, Aeroflot is the largest airline in Russia.
